Welcome — we're glad you're here

From your very first visit, our goal is a "wow" experience that leaves you better than when you came in.

A comfortable new-patient experience
Your First Visit

What to expect

Your first visit will take approximately 1.5 hours. We begin by collecting the background we need — your oral health history, medical history and personal needs — so we can get acquainted and learn about your goals for your treatment.

We then provide a comprehensive exam, which includes an occlusal exam, periodontal exam, visual and oral cancer screening, patient education, blood pressure and pulse recordings, plus full-mouth photos and any necessary x-rays.

Before You Arrive

Your paperwork comes to you

A few small things ahead of time make your first appointment go smoothly.

Forms sent electronically

Before you arrive, your forms are sent to you electronically. Filling them out ahead of time makes your visit that much easier when you get here.

A few clicks, that's it

Updating your patient information, health history and insurance details takes just a few clicks — hopefully no time at all.

Coming in for an emergency?

If your first visit is for a dental emergency, only the tooth or teeth in question will be addressed. Depending on the diagnosis, an additional appointment with adequate time may be necessary.

The Atchison Dental Difference

Comfort, honesty, and a team that knows you

With multiple hygienists on staff, your whole family can often be seen at the same time. We offer comforts like TVs and headphones, and with both doctors under one roof, a second opinion or specialty care is always close by. Because our doctors live right here, we know our patients better than most.

Total-Health Approach

We care about your complete oral and overall health — not just today's visit.

Clear Communication

We explain every finding, option, and cost before we begin.

Community Roots

A cohesive, caring team that treats you like a neighbor — because you are one.

We believe that good dental care begins with open communication. We promise to discuss with you any symptoms present that may require further dental treatment, our diagnosis, alternative treatments that may exist, and our recommendations. Working together, we can achieve a true partnership with one common goal — keeping your smile beautiful and your teeth, gums and jaw joints healthy.
