When the opportunity came to practice and live in Atchison it was an easy decision. With family from Weston, Leavenworth and Platte City, I was glad to find a practice near home. It has been a great place to live and work, and after so many years here, I consider this my hometown! I feel getting to know my patients and being involved with them in our community has created relationships that I will always treasure.

I believe in being the best you can be and that goes for my patients and my dental team too. I have been a continuous student since graduation and have completed over 2,000+ hours of continuing education courses. For my continuing education I have studied all phases of Dentistry and focused on advanced restorative techniques, Cosmetic Dentistry, implants, complex cases, TMJ and sedation. My desire is to inspire our dental team to create a great experience, and for my patients to feel they are getting the best dental care, ever!

I have practiced Dentistry in Atchison since graduating from UMKC School of Dentistry in 1984. In 1979 I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO with a B.S. in Biology. While attending college I had the opportunity to shadow several health professionals and considered many health careers including Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy. Dentistry was a perfect match for me. After spending a year working in pharmacology research at KU Med Center I entered my career in Dentistry.

I believe in giving back to the community and to those I serve. In the spirit of caring and helping others I has been involved with numerous Boards and Commissions over the years including the YMCA, Boy Scouts, Salvation Army, City Commission and many others. On all of these I have served in leadership roles with the ultimate goal to help create a better person or a better place to live and work. To help the dental underserved I led the effort to add a Dental Clinic to the Atchison Community Health Clinic. It has been very successful and now provides dental care to the underserved citizens of our area four days a week.

My wife, Sara, and I reside in Atchison. We have two children, Ben who is a Master Sergeant in the Air Force, and Jenny who is a Registered Nurse in Leavenworth. As a family we enjoy many outdoor activities and traveling. We also enjoy being active in the community and participate in many community events..

Lori Scholz - Registered Dental Assistant

Lori Scholz

Registered Dental Hygienist/Practice Administrator

I began my career in dentistry at the age of fourteen in an orthodontic office. During the next eight years I went from gathering trash to office manager, while enjoying the relationships I developed with patients. I also, graduated from Johnson County Community College Dental Hygiene Program where I earned the I Care Award, during this time period. It was a dream come true when Daniel Corrigan DDS asked me to be his hygienist. Sadly, I was only able to practice with Dr. Corrigan for five years. When one door closes another opens. Fortunately, Dr. Reavis was looking for a hygienist. Since February 1, 1993 this has been my home. I have been privileged to be involved in the evolution of Atchison Dental Associates. I have been honored to form relationships that have encompassed three generations. I will be eternally grateful for these everlasting bonds. Equally invaluable is the love and respect I have for everyone that I get to share my days with at the office. I am blessed to have a wonderful family: my husband, who is a foreman for JEDunn; a daughter, who is a recent graduate of K-State and is a Management Trainee for Boise Valley Feeders, a division of Agri-Beef, in Parma , Idaho; a daughter who has married to a Marine, resides in Oceanside, California where she has her own photography business; and a son who is an electrician for a local company while working towards an apprenticeship to become a High Voltage Lineman. We have a cow/calf and row crop farming operation outside of Lancaster. We enjoy being involved in church, boating, and traveling-especially to visit our daughters!! I would love the opportunity to share my dental knowledge and experiences with you!

When I am not providing care as a dental hygienist, I can can often be found in the front office of our practice. I have knowledge and experience with both the administrative and clinical sides of dentistry. I look forward to scheduling your next appointment, answering any questions you may have and helping you achieve a smile to be joyful about! Ashley Navinsky

Registered Dental Hygienist

Hello!! My name is Ashley Navinsky and Atchison Dental Associates has been my home since 2005. Back then, I was fresh out of school and the “baby” of the office. Boy have things changed! It’s a little disheartening that I am getting “older” but none the less, I wouldn’t change a thing. I truly enjoy all the time spent with my coworkers and getting to know so many wonderful patients. After 5, 10, now 13 years of seeing a lot of the same patients, I really appreciate the friendships that have evolved over the years. I always look forward to hearing about the joys in their lives and what they have going on.

When I am not at work, my husband John, sons Cohen and Broxton and myself keep plenty busy. We live on a farm which we have row crops and raise cattle. The kids are getting involved in lots of activities such as 4-H, sports, cattle shows and church activities. Life is good in my little corner of northeast Kansas! I look forward to meeting you!

Megan Erpelding - Dental Assistant

Megan Erpelding

Certified Dental Assistant

My life in dentistry started years ago, when my long time hygienist asked if I had ever thought of a career change. Not knowing what the practice of dentistry entailed, I knew I had a lot to learn, but was excited to give it a go! I have strived to continually learn and have achieved certification through the Dental Assisting National Board, the State of Kansas, and am also a longtime member of the American Dental Assistants' Association. As a chairside dental assistant and hygiene provider, I am able to share my knowledge with others, which makes me happy! It is important for me to be able to give you a "wow" dental experience and know that you are leaving the office better than when you came in! My husband, Todd, and I enjoy spending time with many outdoor hobbies and making memories with family and friends. I feel I have truly been blessed in life, both personally and professionally and look forward to what the future holds!
